DimeStories provides as many opportunities as it can come up for authors of tiny tales to read their stories to a live audience. If you fear rejection, but want to hear applause–the open mic is for you. If you like some good-hearted fun competition, a Dime-Off is for you. If you want to be a star, and want to be selected to read in the spotlight, then aspire to write the best DimeStory you can and a Showcase may be in your future.
Open Mic Events
Just show up, and put your name in the bucket. You’re in! There is no other submission requirement. All stories are recorded and each month some will be selected by the curators to be posted on the DimeStories website so that you can amaze and delight your mother. Click on a city near you to see details and what may be special about that particular open mic.
DimeStoriers have been asked to participate in other literary events, like book fairs and conferences. The Albuquerque Chapter has performed at Church of Beethoven (now called Sunday Chatter), and the Albuquerque Culture Conference. DimeStoriers have also performed at the LA Times Book Festival
